The Forge have really heightened our need to focus on staff and supply chain wellbeing. During 2021 we will continue this focus, which will include the adoption of flexible working patterns aiming to get the best mix of wellbeing, productivity and collaboration. Through our diligence, we have managed to keep our people and supply chains safe and well. Our employees’ conscientiousness in rapidly adjusting and adhering to strict social distancing guidelines and new ways of working has culminated in the continued delivery of much-needed mixed-tenure homes and social infrastructure. Through the creation of carefully curated new green public realm and private amenity space, we can assist in reversing biodiversity decline and positively improve the lives of our customers and neighbours. During 2021 we will also conduct a five year social return on investment (SROI) review of our completed projects. Impact of new legislation on our approach Since our last report there have been more noteworthy legislative changes in the UK, including the Planning White Paper, the recent introduction of the new London Plan in March 2021 and the Future Homes Standard (FHS) in June 2021. Each raises substantive changes for the sector but nonetheless we believe our BLL risk profile will not noticeably change during 2021. The UK’s most sustainable housebuilder We are delighted to be ranked as the UK’s most sustainable housebuilder in the NextGeneration housing benchmarking report, and to have received the crystal award for transparency and sustainability disclosure. This is a testimony to our people, our investors and our supply chain in helping us to consolidate and strengthen our BLL strategy as we journey toward our 2030 goals.
