Telford Homes has achieved a President’s Award for the first time in the prestigious awards run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The President’s Award is reserved for organisations that have achieved 10-14 consecutive Gold Medal awards, and is testament to Telford Homes long term commitment to implementing the highest possible health and safety standards.

The RoSPA Awards judges measure applicants on their overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. Competitive awards go to the best entries in 24 industry sectors including construction, healthcare, transport and logistics, engineering, manufacturing, and education.

John Fitzgerald, Group Managing Director at Telford Homes, commented: “We are absolutely delighted that our occupational health and safety performance has been recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) with a President’s Award. It is an exceptional achievement and demonstrates the consistently high standards of our occupational health and safety during the last 10 years.

“The health and safety of everyone involved in our business or affected by it is a vital consideration in everything we do. Although our performance over the last decade has been excellent, we will keep striving to improve. We will ensure that, as the business grows, we continue to update our systems in place to train new employees and suppliers in our policies and procedures.

“We remain confident that our comprehensive procedures and investment in training mean that Telford Homes is doing everything possible to minimise health and safety risks on its development sites, now and in the future,” he continued.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar with new sponsors and new awards this year. Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.”
