Delivering on our strategy Chief Executive Officer’s introduction continued January January March March May May The path to zero carbon We are pleased to note that the FHS sets out a roadmap whereby from 2025 new homes will be zero-carbon ready. Our 2030 journey (introduced in 2020) commenced our preparations for these changes. In parallel we have committed to achieving a Science-Based Target (SBT) of an absolute reduction of 12.5 per cent by 2025 and published our inaugural Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures Recommendations (TCFD) statement. To deliver net zero carbon ambitions will require housebuilders and their supply chains to transform industry practices to create low carbon communities. We are preparing for this and collaborating with others in the industry to share ideas and best practices. 2020 COVID-19 roadmap milestones June June April April February February January 8 January Home Builders Federation (HBF) announce that ‘home builders face up to the challenge of delivering net zero carbon and biodiversity targets’ 21 January Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 1 report: Government response February Queen’s Speech renews commitment to discounted market housing, infrastructure delivery, HS2 and Planning White Paper The Pavilions March 3 March Our Sustainability Director spoke at Future Build – UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) panel – How to mandate change: legislation, regulations and guidance 12 March Planning for the future: Government sets out plans for housing and planning following announcements in the 2020 Budget 14 March Public exhibition for proposals at Alperton Bus Garage 20 March Construction sites, sales suites and offices closed 27 March The Forge wins AJ Specification Award Alperton Bus Garage April 1 April Received 11th consecutive RoSPA Gold Medal Award Received In-House Customer satisfaction Gold Award May 4 May Construction sites reopened 14 May The Forge development wins a 2020 Housing Design Award 18-24 May Mental Health Awareness Week 26 May New Homes Quality (interim) Board launched 28 May 2020 Sustainability Report published, with a commitment to being a net zero carbon company by 2030 June 1 June Our CEO joins 200 leading businesses urging the UK Government to deliver a clean, inclusive and resilient recovery plan Sales suites reopened 25 June Our Chief Financial and Operating Officer was a Panel speaker the at Movers & Shakers Webinar – Investing in BTR How’s the journey?
