Telford Homes is the most improved homebuilder according to the 2017 NextGeneration sustainable housing benchmark report, which has also seen the Group obtain a Silver Level award. This progress recognises the ongoing development of its ‘Building a Living Legacy’ sustainability strategy which has seen the Group move to sixth in the 2017 benchmark from seventeenth in 2016.

NextGeneration is the industry sustainability benchmark that analyses the performance of twenty-five of the largest homebuilders in the UK and is overseen by an executive committee made up of the Homes & Communities Agency and the UK Green Building Council. The benchmark enables homebuilders and their stakeholders to understand the sustainability of their operations and the places and homes they build. The benchmarking criteria are based on best practice standards and guidance, and are designed to be challenging and go beyond statutory minima or standard practice.

Jon Di Stefano, Chief Executive of Telford Homes Plc commented:
“Delivering sustainable homes and operating our business in a responsible way is highly important to Telford Homes. This marked improvement in our NextGeneration performance has seen us move up eleven places in just one year and is being progressed through our ‘Building a Living Legacy’ sustainability strategy which we launched in 2016. We are committed to creating homes and places that will stand the test of time by making a positive contribution to London’s built environment.”
