Telford Homes entered into a joint venture to redevelop the site in September 2015, as part of our acquisition of the United House portfolio. City North sits to the west of Finsbury Park underground station and runs parallel to a national rail line.
The Business Design Centre Group and Telford Homes’ joint venture vision for City North is to create transformational placemaking to maximise local economic and community benefits. The scheme is the most significant mixed-use development in Finsbury Park for a generation. It is delivering 355 new mixed-tenure homes (of which 47 affordable homes have been sold in a separate transaction to Newlon Housing Trust) a new Finsbury Park underground station infrastructure, accessible public realms and extensive leisure amenities, for respected brands and local SME businesses.
The scheme will provide 11,781 sq.m (126,809 sq.ft) of useable commercial space which to date has been let to PictureHouse, Mark & Spencer's Food Hall, Gymbox, Neat Burger and Boulangerie Bon Matin, amongst others
We have collaborated with the Finsbury Park community to help maximise the benefits of City North and mitigate adverse impacts wherever possible. This has included liaison with the Fonthill Traders Association and significant investment in local community initiatives. Detailed progress of this work can be seen here.
Subsequently, our five year legacy review demonstrates the transformational benefits of the scheme, with 96 per cent of residents according to HomeViews saying they would ‘Recommend the Developer’.
