Charlie Weatherill to Join Telford Homes as Capital Markets Director
Telford Homes today announced the appointment of Charlie Weatherill as Capital Markets Director. Charlie will join the business, and serve as a member of the Executive Committee, in late September 2020.
Charlie will be responsible for all capital markets relationships and focus on securing funding partners for a growing pipeline of build-to-rent developments. This will include structuring deals and transacting them, either purely forward funded, or with co-investment from Telford Homes.
Charlie joins from Savills, where he specialised in build-to-rent within their market leading Operational Capital Markets (OCM) team. The Savills OCM business, which Charlie joined as a founding director in 2010, has advised on over 70 build to rent funding transactions with a combined value of in excess of £6.5 billion. Telford Homes is a client of Savills OCM and Charlie has been involved in £550m of forward funds for Telford to date.
Telford Homes already has an exceptional reputation within the build-to-rent sector as a trusted delivery partner. Following the acquisition by Trammell Crow Company, the development subsidiary of CBRE, in October 2019, the company intends to substantially expand its build-to-rent business and become the market-leading vertically integrated developer in this growing sector in the UK. Charlie will play a critical role in establishing relationships with funding partners who are keen to invest alongside Telford Homes in purpose designed and built rental homes.
