Two Telford Homes sites receive record breaking CCS scores

We’re delighted to report that not one, but two of our sites across London have been awarded outstanding scores in the Considerate Construction Scheme (CCS).

The CCS is an independent organisation aimed at raising standards in the construction industry. Sites are assessed against five criteria: appearance, respect for the community, protection of the environment, site safety and protection of the workforce. Both our Stone Studios development in Hackney Wick, and our Gloucester & Durham site in South Kilburn, have been awarded scores of 44 points in the scheme - an outstanding score by industry standards and a record for Telford Homes as a business.

Both sites were praised for their positive interaction with the local community, even throughout the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic - with efforts made to positively interact with not only neighbours and those affected by construction works but also with the broader local community. Particular note was given to the work of the Stone Studios team engaging the local creative community with dedicated campaigns to showcase the work of local artists at the development.

Both sites also scored highly for their commitment to protecting and enhancing the environment in all areas of operation, including the use of a smart waste systems and a range of energy saving devices, as well as efforts to promote the health and wellbeing of site staff.

These record results in the CCS Scheme are a true testament to the ongoing work being done to drive safe and sustainable practices across the Telford Homes business, as a core part of our ‘Building a Living Legacy’ strategy. We are incredibly proud of our teams and look forward to more positive results in the near future.
